These new stones from Japan are synthetic whetstones very close to the natural stone. A craft man named Mr. Morihei devoted all his energy to develop this new type whetstone for several decades. On selecting high-quality raw materials of both natural and synthetic stones, he combined both elements at a specific mixing ratio and finally succeeded to create this newest semi-natural/synthetic whetstone.
Every MORIHEI stone involving grit of 500, 1000, 4000, 6000, 8000 and 12000 are fired at low temperature, and the temperature burning each stone grit is slightly different, but not disclosed. To the best of our knowledge, it seems the whetstones are manufactured not by the magnesia method, but by either vitrifying or mostly resinous means.
The official name of this series is MORIHEI Hishiboshi (MORIHEI Hi). We will call it MORIHEI.
I have found these new MORIHEI stones to be something unique. On the tests, Morihei 4000 seems to be a fast stone with excellent feedback. This stone can easily be compared to Naniwa Professional 3000.

We accept returns of new, unused merchandise within 14 days from the delivery. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive return information. The customer is responsible for any return costs unless otherwise agreed to with our customer service. We try to return the money with the same payment method that was used to pay for the order.
After we receive the merchandise and verify its re-sellable condition, we will refund the money. Depending on the item this will take 1-3 days after we have received the item. If there is a delay we will contact you.
In the rare occurrence that the shipment has been damaged, please take pictures and send those to our customer service email@example.com . Also notify the courier bringing you the shipment that it has been damaged.
